For CJ Hendry’s CAKE event in New York, we were commissioned to develop the video side of a highly immersive artistic experience of a dramatic cake fight staged at a 100-foot table covered in fondant cakes. Working alongside photographer Antonio Ajam, our role was to translate the energy of the event into a cinematic moving image piece.

The creative approach was intentionally theatrical, instead of documenting the cake fight literally, we shaped it into a heightened, almost opera-like moment. Edith Piaf set the rhythm of the edit, giving the action tempo, tension, and a slow-motion sense of spectacle.

To achieve that look, we assembled the right crew, designed the lighting for the space, and deployed multiple camera angles to capture the event from every perspective. The result is a film that elevates the precision, and energy of the moment into a striking cinematic experience.
